Meet Olivia: Success4All’s Longest-Serving Volunteer

Ten years ago, Olivia Keenan walked through Success4All’s doors as a tutee.

Since then, she has taken on the role of both Assistant Learning Hub Coordinator and Club Leader. Olivia achieves all of this whilst simultaneously balancing her role as a nursery school teacher in the North East.

Her dedication, commitment and bubbly personality make her an exceptional leader.

We asked her a few questions so that you could get to meet her.

What is your current role within Success4All?
At the minute it’s Club Leader, but pre-pandemic, I was Assistant Learning Hub Coordinator for Throckley.

How long have you been with s4a?
I’ve been with Success4Aall since I was 11, so coming towards ten years.

What does a day in the life of a Club Leader resemble?
I start work at 4 pm with Success4All. Under normal circumstances, I would go wherever I was needed. The first thing I do is set up and make sure everything is ready for the kids when they arrive. Then I run through the activities with them. By the end of the session, I either talk to the parents or volunteers in the learning hub. Once the kids go home, I finish.

What is your favourite part of being a Club Leader?
I love working with kids. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. I love seeing how they progress, but I also love the social aspect of seeing everyone too.

What motivates you?
Music motivates me, anything bouncy like Clubland.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy going out with my friends, seeing my family and going for a drive.
