In our latest ‘Meet Our Team’ blog post, we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Railton,  Hub Leader here at Success4All.

Rebecca is one of the youngest members of the Success4All team who first joined us as a volunteer in 2018. Since then, Rebecca has developed, grown and taken on new responsibilities, and we’d like you to get to know her a little better.

What’s your role with Success4All?

Hub Leader; I look after online tutoring sessions, in person Learning Hub sessions and the Year 3 and under group in our holiday clubs. I am an ASDAN tutor for our level 3 certificate of personal effectiveness. I also do a lot of things behind the scenes such as database management and other administrative duties!

How long have you been with Success4All?

I started volunteering for Success4All in 2018 at the Meadowell Learning Hub. I was offered employment in 2019 and was Hub Leader of the Throckley Learning Hub. I also worked in the Year 3 and under group at our Summer School. In 2020, I helped with the move to online tutoring and in 2022 I helped with the reopening of our in person Learning Hubs again!

What did you do before joining Success4All?

I started volunteering for Success4ll when I was in college. I now go to University to study Psychology alongside working for Success4All.

What is a typical day for you currently looking like as a Hub Leader at Success4All?

With Success4All, every day is different! But my typical weekday consists of University work in the morning into early afternoon, then I start to look at my Success4All work around 3pm, ready for our online tutoring sessions to begin at 5pm. I am one of the Hub Leaders for the in person Saturday Learning Hub. I also catch up on any admin work throughout the week.

What is your favourite aspect of your role so far?

My favourite part of the role is meeting new people. We get to see so many new faces every day through our online tutoring service and in person Learning Hubs.

The most rewarding part of my role is when a young person has had tutoring with us and I find out they have done well in an exam or assessment at school. Often the parent/guardian will let me know they have done well and it reminds me why I work for such an impactful charity!

What is it that really gets you motivated and ready to go?

Young People Learning From Each Other! Usually, this refers to the young volunteer tutors and young people that access our services but this slogan reminds me that I am also still learning from all of the young people!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love staying active. I enjoy ice skating and climbing (just not at the same time!)

If you could have one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would have to choose a stir fry because it can be made in so many different ways that I would never get bored of it, even if I did eat it every day for the rest of my life.

If you have a question that you would like to ask Rebecca about her role as a Hub Leader or if you’d like to learn more about our Learning Hubs here at Success4All, please drop us an email at info@s4a.org.uk
