Success4All Awarded A £70,000 Grant by The National Lottery Heritage Fund To Explore & Document the River Tyne’s Rich Heritage

Success4All is delighted to have received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £70,000 for an exciting heritage project, The River Tyne: Then, Now & Tomorrow.

The project, due to last 20 months, will be led by a newly formed group of young people from ethnically diverse and under-served communities living in the North East of England.

Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project focuses on the heritage of the River Tyne and its impact on the identity of ethnically diverse and under-served North East communities.

As part of the project, the young people will go on a journey of discovery, uncovering the rich heritage of the River Tyne and the communities that once lived and worked along the banks of the River Tyne.

Through a series of public events, delivered in partnership with local heritage and creative arts professionals, the young people will curate an art exhibition and a play, which will be announced later in the year, where they will get to showcase their findings & hopes for the future.

Busola Afolabi, Operations Manager at Success4All, said: “We are thrilled to have secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to present the important, rich and diverse heritage of the River Tyne.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, we are confident the River Tyne project will empower our young people to be active citizens with pride in their Geordie heritage.”
