Volunteer Profile: Meet Laura Rosa Uliana

Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing you to some of our incredible volunteers as part of our #VolunteersWeek2021.

We’ve asked them a few questions so that you could get to know them and what it’s like to be a volunteer.

First up is 21-year-old, Newcastle University student Laura Rosa Uliana.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy watching Friends on Netflix and walking down by the Quayside.

How did you become a volunteer with Success4All?

I became a volunteer with Success4All through my university and have been volunteering with this organisation for almost 2 years.

Why did you become a volunteer?

I volunteer because helping and working with children and young adults is the career path I wish to pursue in the future.

As a volunteer at Success4All, what are your responsibilities?

As a volunteer, my responsibilities are helping the children and young adults with their homework or with any other academic difficulties they might have.

My responsibilities also include making sure the students are having fun and feel comfortable and safe in the hubs.

What’s your favourite part about being a volunteer?

My favourite part about being a volunteer is building a relationship with the students and knowing that I had a part in helping them achieve their academic goals.

Why should other people give volunteering a go?

Other people should give volunteering a go because it is truly an amazing and rewarding experience.
