Success4All is thrilled to announce 15 members of the Newcastle Apostolic Church have successfully completed our 6-week AQA accredited IT workshop.

With members from over 24 different nationalities, Newcastle Apostolic Church, located in Benwell, welcomes people from all over the world and plays a significant role in the lives of so many.

It goes without saying that the church & other places of worship lend themselves as more than just places of worship. Often you will find they serve as community hubs where members congregate, connect, share and build long-term relationships.

Like many community hubs and places of worship, when lockdown was enforced, members of the Newcastle Apostolic Church pulled together to support one another. However, it quickly became apparent that the digital divide was impacting members of the congregation. Many did not have access to a laptop nor did they have the IT skills to support their children with online learning or attend online church meetings. Consequently, members reported feeling excluded from the fellowship.

With support and guidance from Success4All, Newcastle Apostolic Church applied to the All Churches Trust’s Hope Beyond programme. The programme enabled the church to purchase new laptops and train members in essential IT skills.

After successfully being awarded the grant, the church was able to purchase 10 new laptops and provide 15 members of its congregation access to Success4All’s 6-week IT workshop.

Sunday A, who completed Success4All’s workshop said, “Success4All is transforming ordinary people into superheroes, through their programmes like this one.”

Another student, John N added, “The training was greatly empowering and gave me more confidence in hosting Google Classrooms and in sharing and collaborating with documents online.”
