Caroline Afolabi-Deleu


Chair of Trustees

Retired Language Teacher

Caroline Afolabi-Deleu is the founder of Success4All and has been the charity’s driving force since 2006. She serves as the Chair of Trustees.

As a trained language teacher, Caroline can speak 6 languages fluently and is currently seek to learn more. Caroline’s teaching knowledge and passion for encouraging learning outside of school are invaluable to support the charity’s mission. Caroline, who is originally from Belgium, came to live in the UK in 1992, after having lived in Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

Iqbal Syed


Education Welfare Officer

Iqbal Syed has been a trustee since 2015. Iqbal is an education welfare officer at Newcastle City Council. His role supports newly arrived refugee and asylum-seeking families. Iqbal has often referred the most in-need families to our services and was in the initial parents’ group who supported setting up S4A. His knowledge of what newly arrived families need enables Success4All to provide meaningful support to some of Newcastle’s most vulnerable families. Iqbal is also a governor of Gosforth Academy.

Pastor John Ameobi


Retired Clergy

Pastor John Ameobi has been a trustee since 2013 but has been a strong supporter of the charity since the beginning. John is a retired pastor of a local church. He splits his time between England and Nigeria. Though retired, he still travels up and down the country to give sermons and counselling courses for families in crisis. His knowledge of vulnerable families in the North East and how to support them through a crisis is essential when planning services.

John is also a trustee of Ameobi Hardship Fund for International Students, of Maximum Impact Christian Centre and of Poverty Solution Foundation.

John Quinn


Finance Director

John has had several Finance Director roles in North-East based companies. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1988, John worked for five years at Ernst and Young before embarking on a career in manufacturing. John has worked for companies in food manufacturing and printing. It was in the print sector where John was part of a team that successfully negotiated a Management Buy-Out of the business. After a role as Finance Director in a haulage and recycling business, he is currently working for a leading manufacturing company. In 2018, John became a governor of SMART Multi-Academy in Newcastle upon Tyne. John is looking forward to applying his experience in business and as a trustee to help to improve the governance and operations of Success4All.

Sam Fenwick


Language Programme Director

Sam is an experienced academic with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Possessing skills in Quality Assurance, English as a Second Language (ESL), Lecturing, Lesson Planning and  Educational Technology, Sam offers a much needed experienced head as Success4All looks to establish its next phase of educational support outside of mainstream schooling.

Our Operations Team

Connor Bourne


Managing Director

Connor is our current and third director. Having initially joined as a volunteer tutor-befriender as a teenager, he has been part of the Success4All family for nearly 15 years. With a background in Chemistry, he brings strong analytical skills to Success4All’s operations. Driven by lived experience, he is passionate about empowering young people and equipping them with skills to break generational cycles of deprivation. Often shadowed by his 'deputy' Kai (a merle border collie), he takes a hands on approach with all of Success4All's activities.

Ülfet Şahin


The Language Collaboration Project Lead

Ülfet is a highly accomplished linguist, educator, and translator with extensive experience in language teaching, interpretation, and educational project management. Ülfet came to Success4All in 2022 as a specialist Turkish tutor. She holds degrees in English Literature, Humanities and Education, along with a CELTA qualification. As a passionate advocate for multilingualism, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive and accessible language learning, she brings a wealth of expertise in curriculum design, teacher training, and cross-cultural communication.

Amina Asghar


Hub Leader

Amina is our resident jill of all trades, if an activity needs support, she will be there. Like almost all of Hub Leaders, she started as a volunteer tutor-befriender in our Learning Hubs transitioning from in-person activities to supporting online effortlessly. Wise beyond her years she puts the enjoyment of the children at the heart of the every activity she runs.

Daniel Henry


Hub Leader

Daniel has been supporting Success4All in many forms dating back almost a decade often in between career swaps. Demonstrating to our young people that they don't to map out there whole life at such a young age, he offers a grounded but supported approach which endears him to all of the kids we support.

Lydia Waddle


Hub Leader

Lydia joined us as a volunteer-tutor befriender at the age of 16 supporting us in multiple Learning Hubs as part of her volunteering journey. Lydia, following in the footsteps of our founder, seeks to be a teacher and has demonstrated her knowledge and skills in activities primarily aimed at the lowest bounds of our age profile.
