WEYDA Summer Action

This summer was the first time WEYDA held a social action project. Last Monday was the Multi-Faith Football tournament followed on Tuesday by the great Bake Off. Both days were a great success with many people from different religions and cultures came together to have fun.

Monday 11th August saw the Christian Roma community church sweep to the top to claim the first every Multi-Faith trophy. There were a few disputes the main being way did Busola split the WEYDA group up? Because half your group ran away! It was held at the centre for sport on the West Road, even with the treat of a hurricane we were met with wonderful sunny weather.

IMG_1341Tuesday 12th August was the Bake Off and the WEYDA group managed to redeem themselves with one of the groups winning the first Bake Off trophy. There were different people from different place and different religions. The children baked different cakes and pizzas. Their food was extraordinary tasty, delicious, lush, yum and awesome. It was really scary for the baker, but they were excited and happy. They really wanted to win so all groups were very competitive. It was a shame that some teams lost because their food was so tasty.

Next is our West End History Hunt. The WEYDA group have created a treasure map where you can walk through, to find out the history of migration in the West End of Newcastle. And for those who can all the questions there is a chance to win a Kindle Fire!! Good Luck
