Code Club

We have a new Code Club starting at Pottery Bank, running on Tuesdays from 16:00 – 17:30.

Young Writers Club

Along-side Walker Ranger, we are about to start a Young Writers club at Walker Technology College. Over the half term the children are going to take a trip to the Discovery Museum to learn more about the history of Walker park, their stories and characters will subsequently be featured in the information leaflet for the new visitor centre.

Litter Cafe – Art Club

The Litter Cafe Art Club will start Saturday 6th of February, with a trip to the House of Objects. The children will get a crash course on how to recycle, re-purpose and re-use everyday household objects. The club hopes to get the children in the West End of Newcastle thinking more creatively about the objects they throw away, and after the trip begin building a mini Litter Cafe which will be open to the public.

On the 15th of February, during school half-term, staff from Virgin Money and The Sage are going to the Bentinck Learning hub. They are coming to help tidy up the garden, ready for the children’s plants to attract the wildlife. The children have planned to build a bird box, hedgehog house, an insect hotel, as well as planting lots of flowers to attract butterflies and bumblebees. (see more about it here)

Animal Science Club

The Animal Science club, which is run by a Newcastle University CDM student, shall share her passion for the subject with the children ( starting on Wednesday 24th Feb).
