Success4All Celebrations

It was that time of year again when all of the Success4All family come together to celebrate the year we have had.
The day started with the AGM meeting; children and young people, parents, volunteers, staff and the board of directors gathered together to discuss the challenges and victories of the past year and excitedly talked about the plans for 2015.

We rewarded ourselves with chicken and pizza and a bit of bowling!  Showing their competitive side, people were bowling through their legs and displaying all sorts of skills that we have never seen before (I wonder if these talents can be used in the Learning Hubs somehow?). Everyone put in a lot of effort, but the congratulations go to Suziee, who won both tournaments!
The day was our way of saying thank you to all that have been committed to making Success4All`s eighth year a successful one! Every organisation need a team of people around them like this, who provide their time, input and wonderful personalities.

With the support of those around us in the year 2013 – 2014 we have been able to set up a new learning hub in Elswick thanks to the funding from Elswick Ward Committee and Community First, the passion from parents in the area, and Procter and Gamble who gave resources and showed DIY skills when decorating the building and making it a homely environment for the children and young people. Our clubs have been thriving; the Junior Apprentice raised funds for the Learning Hubs, the Japanese Club went on a trip out for Japanese food and entertainment, and WEYDA launched their graphic novel on the dangers of loan sharks in the community. And lets not forgot the achievements of our volunteers, a Young Volunteer at our Blakelaw Learning Hub was awarded the vInspired Regional winner of the North East for `Best Young Volunteer`, and we had our first big fundraising event organised and ran by one of our Career Development Module students from Newcastle University.
The above are just a few of the long list of highlights! Stay tuned with the Success4All blog to be the first to hear about what the rest of the year will bring and our plans for 2015.
