Following on from last term, our young musical artists have had a busy January.
The children have been working on three songs; ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, the ‘Pink Panther’ theme tune and a ‘Clap Beat’ song that they wrote themselves.
With the New Year’s optimism and positivity, the children felt ready to get in to the recording studio at CHAT Trust. It won’t be long now until we get to hear what they’ve achieved! It was a first time experience they all really enjoyed.
On Saturday 7th February, the group’s music session will be filmed. They will continue to practice their songs ready to perform to hundreds at the Sage Gateshead during February half term on Wednesday 18th. The group is participating in the East by North East music project, a Youth Music funded project led by GemArts. The footage and recordings from all groups included will be put together into DVD and CD! The project provides high quality music making opportunities for young people based in the West and East End of Newcastle.
We’re all very excited to celebrate their achievements with performances and workshops at the Sage Gateshead in a few weeks time and see what all the other groups have been getting up to!
