Last week the Director of Success4All and a group of volunteers joined many other people who were there to celebrate the 30th volunteer week causing a sea of 200 red people who joined hands across the millennium bridge.
Volunteer week is a national celebration that runs every year during the first week of June that aims to raise awareness and to thank all volunteers.
We joined fellow voluntary organisations and their volunteers from Gateshead and Newcastle for the Hands across the bridge event which was organised by both Volunteer Centres. It is so important to recognise the work of volunteers, without them there wouldn’t be as many successful organisations out there that are supporting local communities. Although it was a bit chilly, it was a fantastic morning and had a great atmosphere, a brilliant thing to be a part of!
We would like to thank all volunteers who have joined Success4All, both past and present. Our volunteers form part of the community that we aim to achieve in our Learning Hubs. The volunteers who give their commitment to tutoring and befriending the children and young people of Newcastle week in and week out and play a huge role into the social impact that we have in the areas that we work.
