Hadrian’s Wall Challenge

On Saturday 26th May children and young people, volunteers and staff walked the wall for Success4All.

The Hadrian’s Wall Challenge was organised by NE Youth. 10 community organisations came together to walk different sections of the wall. That’s 84 miles walked in 1 day!

A team of S4A’s children, parents, volunteers and staff walked an 8-mile section of the wall from Burgh on Sands to Carlilse to raise funds for this years Summer School. It was a lovely route with lots of brilliant views! The children were aged 8-11 and we thought that they might have tired sooner than us, but in fact, it was the other way round!

After the walk, we had worked up an appetite for food at The Sill. The Sill is a very impressive new visitors centre. We got to chill in the sun, followed by an awards presentation and yummy food before making our way back to Newcastle.

We managed to raise an amazing amount of £1031.75! We are absolutely over the moon to have received so much support. We would like to thank everyone who took part and everyone that donated! We hope to do something similar soon!
