On the last week of the Easter holidays, we ran an Easter Study Support club. In the morning, 16 children and young people signed up for one-to-one tuition to prepare them for their upcoming exams. In the afternoons, they had the chance to join gardening followed by coding sessions. In the coding session, children and young people learnt how to build and code Lego WeDo and Mindstorm robots. Thank you to Go Volunteer at Newcastle University for enabling us to add some coding to our Easter activities!
On the last Friday (21st April), Success4All hosted an Easter Fun Day at the Carnegie Building in Benwell and we’d like to thank all the 45 children and their families who came to take part in what was an excellent day, as well as all the volunteers who helped to make it a success!
There was a wide range of refreshments and activities to keep both children and parents busy throughout the day. There was a professional face painter and a photo booth for the kids to have pictures with their new faces and a wide range of props! We also had code club, gardening club and a crafts table for all the children to engage with, as well as an Easter egg hunt, that included over 100 eggs hidden around the building!
At the end of the day we also announced the winners of our Make a Mascot competition. We had over 70 fantastic entries which were uploaded to Success4All’s Facebook page which the public were invited to like, we again would like to thank everybody that got involved with the competition!
In third place was Arian with his skating frog design, Arian won tickets to bowling at Eldon Leisure!
In second place was Dylan with his monkey design, winning Dylan a family pass to the Life Centre as well as tickets to the Giant’s Den play area!
